What is Directory Finder?
Directory Finder is a curated directory of directories — a searchable database of niche web directories, startup launch platforms, and business listing sites that accept submissions. Every listing shows the data that matters before you spend time or money on a submission: domain rating (DR), estimated monthly traffic, submission pricing, approval time, and whether the backlink is dofollow.
Why submit your website to directories?
Niche directories are still one of the most reliable ways for a new website to earn its first backlinks and referral visitors:
- Backlinks that compound. Links from relevant, moderated directories help search engines discover, crawl, and trust a new domain.
- Referral traffic with intent. People browsing a niche directory are actively looking for tools or services in that space.
- Faster indexing. Links from frequently crawled directories get new pages into Google sooner.
- Presence where buyers compare. Many niche directories rank for the exact "best X" and "X near me" queries you want to show up in.
How we curate this list
Anyone can paste together 500 directory URLs — half of them abandoned. We check every directory before listing it, and record:
- Domain Rating by Ahrefs, so you can prioritize the strongest backlinks — verified automatically, not self-reported
- Estimated monthly traffic, because a link from a ghost town sends no visitors
- Submission pricing — free, paid, or both — with real prices where published
- Approval time, from instant to a couple of weeks
- Link type — dofollow, nofollow, or mixed
Use the filters to narrow the list to, say, free dofollow directories in your niche with fast approval — then work through it top to bottom by DR.
Free vs. paid directory submissions
Start with free submissions: they cost nothing but time, and a handful of relevant free directories is the fastest first-links win available to a new site. Paid submissions can be worth it when the directory has genuine traffic in your exact niche — judge them like an ad placement: audience first, backlink second. The pricing and traffic data on every listing here exists so you can make that call before paying.
Own a directory? Get listed
If you run a niche directory, submit it to Directory Finder — listings are free and include a link to your submission page, so founders in your niche can find you.
Built with Directify
This site runs on Directify, the same platform behind many of the directories listed here. If browsing this database sparks a directory idea of your own, you can launch one just like this — search, categories, custom fields, and paid submissions included — in an afternoon.
